On Dec. 27, 2013, College of Civil Engineering donated three paintings to the Archives. The paintings, with the same topic —— Grapes and Myna Birds, were made by Prof. Hu Qianshan in 1980s.
As Prof. Hu’s last wish, his student, Liu Zhentian donated the three paintings to College of Civil Engineering on the 90th Anniversary of College of Civil Engineering. College of Civil Engineering later donated the paintings to the Archives to be preserved.
Prof. Hu was not only an expert in vibration studies and an educator in engineering mechanic but also a great lover of painting. With painting as his hobby, Prof. Hu got a lot of fun from it and he also combined his teaching with painting.
